Evans Scholars Foundation

In 1930, the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans Jr. established the Evans Scholars Foundation. The Foundation’s mission was to provide full tuition and college scholarships to caddies with limited financial means.

The first two Evans Scholars enrolled at Northwestern University in 1930, and since then, more than 10,830 outstanding young men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars. This year, there are 985 Evans Scholars enrolled at 18 leading universities nationwide.

It was an Evans Scholar who introduced one of Macdonald’s founders to the game of golf. Follow the link and learn about some amazing young women and men whose futures have been impacted at a life-changing level by Chick Evans’s dream. And consider becoming a Par Club member!

Shivas Irons Society

Can’t say it better than quoting from the website: “The Shivas Irons Society is dedicated to furthering golf as a mindful pursuit and as a tool for personal growth and development. We inspire, connect, and support all who are interested in exploring the transformational aspects of the game in the spirit of Michael Murphy’s 1972 novel “Golf In The Kingdom,” the original inspiration for the Society and one of the best selling and most influential golf books of all time.

Our supporters believe that golf is a better, more rewarding game when played in a way that’s intentionally conscious and respectful of its core roots and values – a style of play that Shivas Irons himself would recognize and endorse, and one that is often at odds with much of what the modern game has become.”

We think you should consider becoming a member of the Society, and you should certainly read Golf in the Kingdom!

Lee Wybranski

Lee Wybranski is shaping the look of golf today. Working within the game since 1995 as an artist and designer, Wybranski’s first client was Winged Foot Golf Club, and he and his studio have gone on to work with the finest clubs and organizations. His iconic posters and logo work are seen throughout the championships of the Royal and Ancient, the USGA, The PGA of America, and The Masters. His work has a traditional aesthetic inspired by fundamental principles and the great artists of the past. We have never been able to pick a favorite work, so we have many!

Josh Smith

We have known Josh Smith, CGCS, Superintendent at Orinda Country Club, for many years, and have been fortunate to have observed his development as an artist on canvas, too. As a painter in oils, he has become a favorite artist of many noted golf architects, PGA tour players, and lovers of the game depicted by his paintings of golf courses that are at one with nature. He can count Tom Doak, Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Lehman and Mike Keiser among many who appreciate his work. Josh has had art showing in many wonderful clubs and resorts along the West Coast, including Bandon Dunes, Pebble Beach, San Francisco Golf Club, Cypress Point Club, Meadow Club, and The California Golf Club. To our eye, Josh has gone from creating amazing art to creating even more amazing art!

Miura Golf Clubs

Katsuhiro Miura has been crafting some of the game’s finest forged golf clubs since 1957 with a stunning attention to detail. The refinement is remarkable… Miura irons are so beautiful that it is difficult to describe, but the beauty is inherent in their simplicity. It is as though Miura-san removes everything that is not necessary, and what is left is pleasing to the eye, the ear, and every other sense a golfer can bring to bear during their swing.

Designed and constructed by Katsuhiro Miura and his sons, each club is individually made using Miura’s patented forging process. Do yourself a favor, and test drive some Miura.
